Plus, they're stupidly dangerous to everyone. They're
built extra
 rigid, so
they just eat up crumple zones in other cars. There's
an offset crash
 video
with a Volvo 740 floating around... the VW completely
mashed up the
 740.
Plowed through the fenders and engine compartment and
right into the
passenger compartment. All the dummies suffered
serious injuries.

That, and they are probably the least environmentally
sound vehicles
 still
on the road.
