Hi all.

I've been carrying around a spare alternator. Kinda over kill yes,
but, well, that's just me. Figured I should at least confirm that it's
putting out power since it takes up room.

Assuming I can rig up an electric motor, can the alternator be bench
tested without the starter battery in the circuit?

Bentley shows procedure, but that's with it installed in van. I assume
having the battery connected matters.

If this ain't easy, I'll take it to a shop and have them do it.
