I'm running Elf EXCELLIUM 10W50 in my 2.1L, with Lucas Oil Treatment, and so
far I have been very happy with the performance.

under $6.00 a Liter.

I am back from a 8000 miles trip from montreal to san francisco and back.
Fortunatelly, we had no mechanical problem during our trip even with the
120F in las vegas ..except 3 tire blast!
 
 
We did some oil change during the trip and i'm now due for another one and
i'm still wondering what is the best oil grade for a Vanagon 83 1.9L
Watercooled ?
