Engine age might be a factor. My Westy is in the lower MPG range, but I have 198K on the engine. Interestingly, my Van tends to smell like it is running rich at times, particularly when first started in the morning. This seems to be a symptom that I have seen others report. I'm running a relitively new O2 sensor and have replaced the Temp II sensor about 3 times. Todd '88 Westy
