The pressure in the vehicle owner's handbook is merely a setting for comfort. Using a somewhat higher pressure (I use 32PSI generally in my cars, running ordinary tires) will give better handling and let the tires run cooler, giving longer tread life. Of course severe overinflating can cause stress failure, increaesd wear on the now-bulging tread center... >Too high a pressure means a much smaller contact patch meeting the >road, and that is definitely going to affect braking. ... and that too. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut Opinions stated are mine, not of the University of Otago "There is water at the bottom of the ocean" - Talking Heads
