My 88 2wd Doka tips the scales at 3310 lbs. Syncro 16 Doka was just under 3600 lbs. The question that begs to be answered is how much of the Carrera 4 is in the drivetrain likewise in the Vanagon. Nevermind Syncro Westies. They weigh a half a car more than the Porsche. http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/911/911-carrera-4/featuresandspecs/ Aerodynamics aside, the drivetrain shouldn't be too unhappy in a Doka or an empty shell of a van. None of this is news. That loaf bodied Singlecab T3 (Vanagon) has the drivetrain from a 3.6 twin turbo 911 (993) www.race-taxi.ch. Speaking of which... there was recent discussion about a carbon fiber Westy top. The race Taxi has a carbon fiber top (roof). -- BenT
