Subject:Resistance of Coil Wire?
From:Michael Elliott
Date:Sun, 23 Sep 2007 08:03:07 -0700

Page 28.31 of Bentley's says that the resistance of the wire between the
ignition coil and the distributor should read 2000 ohm +/- 800 ohm,
tip-to-tip. Mellow Yellow's reads about 10,000 ohm. My FLAPS didn't have a
replacement wire, though they did have a "universal" wire that I picked
up, just 'cause. It, too, measures about 10k ohm tip-to-tip.

My existing wire looks to be in good condition. Is Bentley's spec
inaccurate, and even if it is not, does it matter enough to make it worth
ordering a new set of plug wires?
