Thanks Mark.

I have a 86 without AC and no PS and had the small fan.
The wiring looked like it was from older vans so I replaced it all with a complete harness from a 91 with AC.
It only runs at hi speed, not often. Actually, it has never come on unless I idle the van for a very long time.
The temp needle stays low on the gauge also.
The van runs like a top and I have checked the thermo switch at the rad and checked the temp with thermo gun.

Thanks to all that responded.
My van runs great.
I was just curious.

82-85 2 speeds, small fan motor.

86-91 2wd non-A/C, 2 speeds small fan motor
86-91 Syncro non-A/C, 2 speeds big fan motor
86-91 all with factory A/C, 3 speeds, big fan motor
