In a message dated 26/10/2007 12:36:15 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, LISTSERV@GERRY.VANAGON.COM writes: AOL users often need assistance when it comes to quoting. I don't think it defaults to quoting. As I understand it, if they first highlight the text they want to quote before clicking on "reply," the text gets pasted into the reply with the quote marks. Yes, sort of. As we have two choices in AOL 9.0 on how the quotes are handled, "reply with selected text" or "reply with original text" and three styles: "blue bar" as I use but it never shows up on the Vanagon Listserv, "indent" or "none". So when I reply to a message "I" choose the text i want quoted then I type my reply below. It all looks perfect when on my screen. I then send it but the Vanagon Listserv changes it all around in many ways. I have tried other ways to overcome this but so far none are suitable. Normally it's not a problem if you've been following the tread subject from the beginning. But for those that jump in the middle of the discussion it become unclear who said what when ! AND, now we're far from any Vanagon content !
