What can you get for less than $20... brokerage fees at Canada
Post!

The other thing that UPS does, and it is illegal, is they
won't let you clear your own package. They must give you a copy of
the invoice that is on the package, which border crossing it is at and a
control number for the package. Then you should be able to go to any
Canada Customs office with a completed B3 form and clear your own package
- takes 2 minutes to fill out the form and say 10 minutes to wait for the
buddy to stamp it and collect your money. With a Customs Broker,
this is all done with a computer and it takes them less than a minute to
do the whole thing - basically they type in your address, the shippers
address and the import code for the item along with it's value - simple
stuff - I'd do this all day for $50 a crack if I lived next to a Canada
Customs office... With the B3 stamped by Canada Customs they (UPS)
must release the package as duty has been paid - they won't do this and
will tell everyone that it isn't possible 'cause they'll loose too much
money if word got out that you could actually do this - opps - cat out of
the bag! ;-)
