Here's an interesting question, and I'm curious too

By show of "hands"(email) after reading the copy on their site, how
many people on the list understand it to be:

1) a brand new engine(which in the industry means factory built,
virgin/unseasoned castings)
2) genuine VW (meaning the longblock was designed/built by VW, and
assembled by VW)
