Subject:Re: Closed-Loop: what's the ECU waiting for?

A cold reading from the temp sensor cam make the ECU go open loop but the
temp would be near 110F. Bad reading from the O2 sensor will make the ECU
try as hard as it can to compensate. This is where you can get runaway
richness. This is especially true on the 2.l Digifant. It has enough
adjustment to so rich the engine can choke and puke and blow black smoke.

Thank you, Dennis.

I understand that even after the ECU has gone closed-loop, it will switch
back to open loop if it gets an out-of-range reading from the O2 sensor.
Will it also go back to open loop if it gets a "cold" reading from the
temp sensor?
