Toyota owns part of Subaru now ? If you know any more , I'd like to know please. A replica has been built somewhere, I think in the US. Iyt was covered years ago by "Hot VWs" or "VW & Porsche". >>As I understand it, it will be an opposed four, like all 'regular' subaru >>engines, and thus I would expect, would fit in a vanagon. >>Cracked heads are not a subaru regular thing, so I would hope they'll get >>that right. Look at the EA/ER engines cracked heads were common. Subaru doesn't always get it right. However I think Toyota now has a majority holding, so perhaps its expertise will be used (the 3.3-liter 1KZ-T four apparently is one of the few turbodiesels that isn't particularly prone to crackine heads). -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut , Opinions stated are mine, not of the University of Otago "There is water at the bottom of the ocean" - Talking Heads
