I drove my 87 Westy with a stock tranny for 80k miles and the traction blew. I had Darryl rebuild my tranny with tall gearing and a self sourced LSD about 4 years ago. I have probably 30k on it now and it is a huge improvement on and off road. John Eastcoastvanagon.net
