Hi all. So here I am. Watching the snow fall, gazing out at my Westy full with a 1.9WBX, tires/wheels and other parts waiting to be delivered and thinking: "Oh the irony!" Part of the load are 4 almost new "Nordic" M&S tires mounted on Vanagon rims! Hmmmm, maybe I can do it. Ya sure. I can see it now. Tackling hills back to my house on Nexen tires with 50% tread. Not! Anyhow, I had pause to think and felt that a thanks to the list was due. So THANKS! --- :^) The help from list members re: my 85' parts van has been great. With this help, I got the engine running, tackled different aspects of the van to get spare parts, learned a bunch, and some other lucky person got a great package deal on the engine/wheels/tires. Plus I scored a good pair of coolant tubes, a rad fan, mounts etc. For me, one of the best part of Vanagon ownership, has been getting back into wrenching. This has been VERY cathartic for me. Without help from this list, it would be a MUCH steeper learning curve and possibly, uh, not so cathartic. With any luck the snow won't be as bad as the radio says. We'll see. Maybe today is a good day to go downstairs and organize all my "new" Vanagon parts!
