Not really an o-ring. More like a D shaped seal. They almost always have to be cut off as they get hard as steel. Where they have always been on all vw/bosch distributors since about 1951 or something. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Vdub Guy Sent: Sunday, December 09, 2007 11:38 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Distributor O Ring Can someone please enlighten me as to where the rubber O ring goes on the distributor? I have looked in Bentley (for my Vanagon) and Haynes (for my Super Beetle) and from the drawings in both, I can't figure out exactly where it goes on the distributor-FWIW, neither my Vanagon nor my Super Beetle distibutors had this O ring-otherwise I may have figured it out! Thanks, Jeff
