What I'd do first is change the ATF that's in your PS system now, first. And check & clean the screen in the Res. Undo the low pressure return, feed fresh, while you collect old into a bucket or pan. Honda's, that you mentioned, use 'power steering fluid' which is different than ATF. Jus flush your ATF and see what that does. Now THAT, can't hurt anything. The wrong fluid sure can. It says "Converts regular PS fluid into a universal fluid to be used in vehicles such as..GM, Chrysler,Ford, Toyota, Honda and more" The MDS sheet calls it Petroleum Hydrocarbon. Baseoil, PAO, and trade secret additives. Add 4 oz to system. What could possibly go wrong? ;-) jm On Dec 12, 2007 9:46 PM, Anthony Egeln <regnsuzanne@yahoo.com> wrote: > Remember the vanagon uses automatic transmission fluid in the power > steering, not power steering fluid...so is the product compatible with ATF? > > Anthony > '89 Syncro GL (Hidalgo) > > > > John Meeks <vanagon@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > I'm looking at a bottle of ATP power steering protectant AT-213, a > synthetic blend that's supposed to "Eliminate whines and noise in > Power Steering Systems" and "Lubricates and protects Racks and Pumps. > Snake Oil?? > > Anyone tried this?
