No...the bass are incidental. The lakes at Disney World are really quite large and are as natural as any reservoir lake or impoundment in America. My tongue in cheek comment was made to point out the differences between the park in Anaheim and the park in Orlando. Disney World is much larger and incorporates vast natural woodlands in its location. The last time I was there, there were wild turkeys roaming outside our hotel! The lakes also hold substantial populations of alligators, as well as trophy sized bass (catch and release only). Maybe you'll save a few miles on your way to Key West. We'll be at Disney World next weekend for the finale of our Florida resident annual passes...alas, in a hotel not a vanagon. BTW, I've been to both parks, and Disney World has much better bass fishing. :-) Anthony '89 Syncro GL (Hidalgo) Rob wrote: Sitting here using Rand McNally Tripmaker and thinking about VW trips. No particular reason for this, just goofing off. From Olympia, WA USA to La Paz, BS Mexico is 2408 miles along 101 (mostly), . That is the "scenic" route with a stopover at "Disneyland". Going 'quickest' is 2151miles (still have the Disneyland stop) with a lot of I-5 driving. I tried mapquest but it was not able to deal with Mexico. From Olympia it's 3542 miles to Key West, 4030 if you keep Disneyland in as a stop over. The Disney route gives you LOT'S of time on I-10, not bad if it's a real winter. I have to keep dreaming ....
