I just returned from picking up my daughter in Omaha, NE and moving her &
the 86 Mystery Machine Vanagon back to Madison, AL. I rented a 17 foot
truck (~$880.00) plus an auto transport dolly (~$200.00). Due to the
weather I also opted for the insurance package. This was a one-way move for
about 900 miles. Time allowed was six days after pickup of equipment which
included an extra day due to the weather.

Matt,
You wil probably be ahead of the game simple to rent a truck and auto
trailer from U-haul (or the like) and haul it home ourself. That is what
I did when the engine in my 88 GL blew out in in Clinton, OK. Did the
rental thing, and pulled it all the way to Birmingham, AL with no
difficulty at all. I don't remember what it cost me - it was a number of
years back. before high fuel prices.Gas was under $1/gallon.
Good Luck,
Regards,
