Sorry to hear that another Westy bites the dust. Ouch! I've seen that
happen in my neighborhood, too, but never to a cherished Vanagon.

When I had a garage that was big enough to fit my Westy inside I
rested easily, but now that is not the case. So, if winds of 35mph+
are forecast, I park the van away from the big trees and walk back
home. Even so, those monsters can come down at any time, with or
without wind. A friend of mine who owns a tree business says most
trees fall in the spring from the heavy new growth of leaves and soft
ground. What brought that tree down?

Anyway, I feel for ya...
