I just replaced the stock antenna on the Camper and remembered why I don't extend it fully but stop when it is about an inch higher than the vent on the poptop. This has saved my roof vent a couple of times when getting into parking garages - just go slow and watch the antenna tip when you get to the clearance sign hanging in the opening of most garages.
