Well, CL isn't like ebay where you click and commit to buying it and click and send money. It's just a classified site, the actual sale is face to face people, money, item. It works well. You can be disappointed when you show up to look at an item and it isn't as described, but you can always walk away. I've seen that ad a few times, along with the fake pop-top ads on PDX CL and SEA CL. Funny stuff. It'd be fun to meet the guy. bean -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM] On Behalf Of Jim Felder Sent: Wednesday, January 02, 2008 12:13 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: rare restored vanagon on CL, this one is a cream puff Obviously a well-done prank, the poster knows exactly what not to say abut a vanagon and says it. But, for sake of argument, what if I had the money and bought it? If it didn't really have a waterbed in it, say, would I be entitled to go after the seller for fraud? What if he just snapped this picture of a vanagon on the street, and he doesn't really own it, and somebody buys it? Just wondering about CraigsList in that regard.
