Yup, I'll second that for sure, Redline MT-90 is great. I changed mine out about a month ago and it made a huge difference. I'm not sure if it makes as big a difference in warmer climates, but for us cold folks, IMO, it is well worth it. It is possible, though, that my PO had some pretty low-end gear oil in there, FWIW. BTW, when I tried to buy it at the FLAPS I use, they insisted I put it back on the shelf and get something different. According to them, "MT-90 was only for Chevys..." I guess I must have one of those rare vanagons with a Chevy tranny... ;) -Ben > Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2008 21:09:53 +0000 > From: fonman4277@COMCAST.NET > Subject: Redline MT-90 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > > For years on this list and type2 I've read over and over about how great Redline MT-90 is in a manual trans. Months ago I ordered some online (could not find it locally). Finally got the time this morning to change the trans gear oil to Redline. All I can say is "holy crap!", this stuff is all I've heard it to be. Not a fun job to do on a chilly day in your driveway, but well worth the effort.
