Hi, A month or so ago, a listee sent some information on a book that was published as part of the 60 year Transporter Anniversary this past fall in Hannover Germany. The book looked like a neat book, and for 15 Euros, it didn't seem to be a bad deal. So I ordered one. On the website, the US was not on the addressee pull down menu. So I ordered anyway, and on the "comment" section of the order form, I noted that I was from the US, and please advise me as to shipping costs. Afterall, how much could it cost to ship a book to the US? $10? 20? They wanted to charge me $135 Euros PLUS overhead expeneses!!! Here's their reply: >Dear Mr Golen, > >Thank you very much for choosing VW Bulli Book. > >You have ordered one bulli book via internet. >Unfortunately we can not finish your order that way. > >We have already received your money, but there are the despatch costs left. > >The forwarding charges for UPS Dispatch for the USA are: > >1 book in one parcel 133,97 > >10 book in one parcel 289,50 > >20 books in one parcel 379,42 > > >The price of one book is 14,90 > > >For sure we will ><http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=eL4jU.&search=allocate>allocate ><http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=eL4jU.&search=overhead>overhead ><http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=eL4jU.&search=expense>expenses. Unbelievable!!! Told them (politely) what they could do with the book, and do please refund my payment. Ric >
