Hi Mike.
Don't know if I qualify as "older folk" (I'm 44) but....
From what I've read, the Garmin 60CSx (and possibly others in this
category) has a display that is visible in sunlight.
This from Amazon:
".....Plus, you get a bright, sunlight-readable color TFT display "
The user reviews look good too though after reading a few of them, did
not see mention either way (pro/con) about screen in sunlight. And
speaking of user reviews....
One user rated it 1/5 for use on the road, though he "asked" it to set
a route from the road directly to the trail he wanted to hike. It gave
him a straight line basically IIRC.
As for people with glasses, who knows? I'll see (har har) if I can't
judge how it works for me. At this point I need glasses for
computer/music, but not yet for driving.
Cheers,
Neil.
