My '93 Dodge Club Cab 4x4 with the 5.9L Cummins diesel regularly got 21mpg
or more.  It was a pig of a truck with atrocious body integrity issues, but
that was a noisy gem of an engine.  Sure wish I could wedge one into a
Vanagon.
