Mine comes on a lot in the summer. (feenix AZ). It's loud but the fan on my old '96 dodge Dakota 4x4 slt. (318cui) was louder when it would go into hyperdrive mode. It also regularly did this in the wintertime (crappy fan speed clutch design). That fan mod sounds like a good one. In AZ I need a higher speed! (can I get one that goes to '11'?
