You have an automatic tranny ("the pan") in your "new" van Michael. Likely time to change the lube in it and the screen/filter and pan gasket. I used Redline when I changed mine years ago (when I had a '91 auto) and the difference in tranny performance was amazing, especially in Utah cold winters.
