Let me add something if i may... when you are stuck in the wild and/or in a
remote cold place, any kind of nice heating system is more than welcome. I
really don't care about what is the temp outside, what is the consumption or
how my unit will perform... anything will be greatly appreciated. Worse
case, you will need to find a place to fill that tank after some wile and
make sure your battery is up for the task. I'm sure there is other good unit
out there... just get one. It's a must in some extrem situation. If it's 0F
in your van, even the 2000 propex will give you some nice heat to sleep well
and get on the road the day after. It's better than nothing!

In my trip, at the beginning, i had to used it a lot. At some point, after a
few night of Propex and radio, all that in the same spot... one morning, my
second battery was almost dead!!! So yes, it take some juice... and i would
not count on this thing for a week in the cold wild unless the tank is full
and you have 2 spare batteries. The fan motor must drain about 3-4 amp an
hour. The propane will outlast the baterry, that is for sure. I think there
is no real solution as to put a Westy in the wild for 7-10 days without
filling the tank at least once or charging the battery a few time.

I hope that help

Cheers, Ben
