There is no list of common parts you can use to bolt on Audi front brakes. Here are the main issues. The 80-85 will need the spindles/uprights changed to 86+ ones. 15" or larger wheels are needed for clearance. The Audi brake calipers use a carrier with holes for a different bolt pattern and bolt size for attaching to the upright. These holes need to be drilled out precisely to fit the Vanagon upright bolt pattern. Spacers are needed to correct the caliper offset to the rotor. All the 2wd Vanagons here use a one piece front rotor/hub with the wheel bearings. The big brakes use a separate rotor that mounts to a bearing hub from a South African Vanagon. (Syncros don't need this) Here is a link to where to buy the kit for 86+ 2wd vans. http://www.van-cafe.com/vanagon_parts.jsp?pa=p&p=1668168581&pct=101126454&ct=60549947 ---------- Here is the same kit for earlier vans, with 86+ spindles/uprights included. http://www.van-cafe.com/vanagon_parts.jsp?pa=p&p=1916146909&pct=1432618159&ct=2018737136 ---------- Mark Jonce Fancher wrote: > Hi all > Ive got my 85 westi that I was planning on installing audi brakes on the front. > Not sure it they will fit the 85 2WD since all I can find is info on the syncro. > Im installing a zetec and want to be able to have a bit more stopping power since I will be towing a very small trailer as well. > > Can someone point me in the right direction??
