Hey, nice to see your comment. I put a pump on a Chevy V-8 diesel - sure was hard climbing up there and almost down into the engine compartment to work on it. The pump was 900 bucks rebuilt, and I think that included 300 for a core charge as they said the old one wasn't rebuildable. And that's not counting labor or miscellaneous parts also needed. Wow 'TWO years' of fuel gone with that repair ! -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Vdub Guy Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 4:31 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: New VW Rotten Unvieled // TDI? <Yes and when your injection pump needs rebuilding I will cost the equivalent of 250 gallons of fuel to get the whole job done, something a gasoline car doesn't' even have at all.> You got that right! I had a Chevy van with the 6.2 diesel. Got amazing mileage for such a large vehicle (33 mpg). Then the injection pump failed-2 years of fuel savings burned up all at once. Jeff
