I've been using 'self etching primer' lately. It's a soft green color.......... And at least with brush-on acrylic enamel touch up paint, the self etching primer makes that paint go on SO smoothly it's just fantastic. With a dead perfect color match by paint code, it makes the touched up spots even nicer than the untouched original paint. (Painting tip) Yes. I did. --- ;^) AFAIK, the only paint that should go over Tremclad primer is Tremclad rust paint. I believe it says that on the can. (the directions on mine are hard to read) After cutting the hole for the lower rad grill, I thought I'd paint the exposed bits plus a bit more in the area. I primed with Tremclad primer and top coated with spray paint. It totally lifted and melted the primer. lol ! So rather than watch paint dry, I thought I'd post this for the paint newbies! --- :^) Cheers, Neil. -- Neil Nicholson. 1981 Air Cooled Westfalia - "Jaco" http://web.mac.com/tubaneil http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/
