Richard, Pull the windshield, sand blast and treat the affected area with (http://www.por15.com/) prime with an epoxy enamel primer, then fill, sand and prime again with an epoxy enamel primer, base coat, clear coat paint, get new windshield seal, replace windshield, and the rust will likely not return for some time. The cost to do it right, about $350 or so. You may as well do your entire front end, and this combo really helps protect you against stone chips as well. Go to one of your local auto body paint stores, and ask for a reference or name of one of their independent customers who you could contact. There are a lot of "one-man" shops who are very willing to work with you on an hourly rate (say $35 per hour), plus material. That is how I found my body guy, who did a picture perfect restoration of my 84 Westy. Jack R. I'm wondering what some of you have paid to have this fixed. I know it depends on the severity of the rust and I'm pretty confident that this job could be done with some grinding and a little bondo, but I just don't have the means to do it myself. Thanks for your help. Andrew Portland, OR
