Did you prep it with any lubricant or anything, or use any afterwards? I am worried about it getting stuck in the "open" position! -----Original Message----- From: Karl Ploessl <karl.ploessl@gmail.com> To: pyjme@aol.com Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sent: Fri, 22 Feb 2008 6:33 pm Subject: Re: 81 westy stove issue had the same problem a few years ago. Take off the knob (just a hard pull), take pair of pliers or a wrench and turn the stem a few times. After that it should work again with the knob. At least it worked for me :-) On 2/22/08, Peter Young <pyjme@aol.com> wrote: I have an 81' westy with a stove issue. The right knob will not turn on, it is stuck in the "off" position. I don't know how to get into the stove guts to fix it and I really don't feel like spending an exorbitant amount of money to an RV shop to have them fix it and mess up my almost-perfect cabinets in the process. Is there anyone out there who knows how to get into the stove? ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.??Check out the new AOL Mail ! - http://webmail.aol.com -- Karl 1981 VW Westy "Jenny" 2000 VW Jetta GLS VR6 Wilmington, DE ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.
