Joy, you might try GIMP for a Photoshop replacement. Haven't used it much myself, but Photoshop is getting to expensive for my needs, so I will probably start getting to know GIMP better in the near future. Email: Are you trying to use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook express? I use Outlook Express which is built into windows and should be listed in your programs menu. The problem you are mentioning sounds like an old familiar one that went away for me when I started using Outlook Express. I just got a new laptop - IBM compatible, running XP, which is the same as my old (falling apart) one. I'm trying to deal with loading software on it, and having various problems: 1. I have a legal copy of Office 2003. I loaded it on the new machine. Word and Excel work, but when I run Outlook it tells me the MAPI32.DLL file is corrupted or not compatible, and that might be because I had installed another messaging system. I haven't. I reinstalled Office, it does the same. The new computer has a trial version of Office 2007, and I did unthinkingly start that version of Outlook, thinking it would essentially turn out to be a legal update of my 2003 Office. (Foolish me!) I don't know if that's why 2003 won't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? 2. I have a pirated copy of SPSS which I assume I can't move over to the new machine. Does anyone know of freeware statistical packages that can do basic work (cross tabs, comparative means, etc.) on SPSS (.sav) data files? 3. A friend suggested I use openoffice instead of MS Office. Alas, it won't solve my Outlook problems, but I'm still considering it. Has anyone used it? What do you think? 4. I also have a pirated copy of Photoshop, which I also assume I can't move to the new machine. I could buy Photoshop, it's nothing like as expensive as SPSS, but are there freeware packages that do similar things? Any advice would be most appreciated!
