We kicked that subject around a bit some time ago, but I don't recall what charger make/model or whether it was a 12vdc to 12vdc charger or a 120v AC. It was a 3 or 4 stage smart charger which is much better for deep cycle batteries than relying on the voltage regulator. My auxiliary system has already cost me a bundle (solar panel charge controller, battery, cable, Sure Power 1315 seperator, fuse panel, trickle charger, battery monitor...), so I hesitate in spending hundreds more unless someone out there has had the same deep cycle battery for 10+ years using one of those units. Then it might pay for itself in the long run. Otherwise, why bother with the cost and installation time, let alone the added complexity?
