LOL, I didn't' track that you are the spark plug wire guy .... Maybe you shouldn't do any soobie wiring harness for yourself ! I would just say that it's not quite safe to assume that just because a professional did it that it's right. Some are much better than others I'm sure. YMMV as it were. -----Original Message----- From: BJ Feddish [mailto:bfeddish@netreach.net] Sent: Tuesday, March 11, 2008 5:01 PM To: 'Scott Daniel - Shazam ' Cc: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: RE: -Now Engine Conversion - doing your own soobie wire harness >> Yes, and...you're overlooking the 'knowledge factor' about having done your own harness and thus being more able to deal with your sobie-vanagon if there's a problem someday - you'll understand the system better, plus you know the wiring harness will be done very carefully that way, by doing it yourself. - just other factors to consider is all I'm saying. << hmmmmmm. I dunno about that. Even if I DID solder the 2000 (I don't know the real number) connections myself I don't see how that would help me when my van breaks down in East BF. Also, me doing it "very carefully" is still probably not as good as one of the vendors that do it all the time. I've actually helped someone install a hard drive, format it, install an OS and then their applications over the phone. I would never expect them to do it all again on their own from memory. Anyway, 3 hours ago I accidently swapped the coil plug with the #3 cylinder plug, I would not trust a wiring harness I did myself. ;) Bryan
