Subject:Re: VW Fox rubber engine mounts L/R Same? (Vanagon conversion)

If they look the same, me thinks that you are not considering that they
could have different hardness, left to right. The factory might do that -
they could improve vibration characteristics with a little trickery like
that.

Fwiw, I have use Quantum TD rubber engine mounts ( might be what your fox
ones are like ) on the left side of a TD vanagon just fine.

They look like little trapezoidally shaped small 'bricks' with a stud on
top I think. If one feels stiffer in any way, ...well, you don't' have a
turbo, and your engine is at 15 degrees...if one felt stiffer I'd put in on
the lower side. I think you're probably fine. Pics of course are always fun
and nice.
Then maybe your fox mounts are nothing like what I'm thinking of. If I'm
anywhere near a VW Fox car, something is seriously wrong !! lol.

Thanks Mark.

The numbers help. I think they're the same.

I'm good to go.

I mean what the heck. If I make it so Left is used in Right position,

then that'll make my Vanagon just that much more unique!

Neil.
