Does anyone know the thread size of nut on the ends of the speedo
cables where it hook into the counter/emissions box on a us spec syncro.

I'm being asked the following questions: Do your cables screw on to
the sensor with the M18 x 1.5 thread like all earlier VW's used, or
do they have the plastic clip on cable end, like the speedo? This is
from a friend over seas who is not used to dealing the two piece
spedo cables and I'm not sure of the answer.
