I've had Llumar installed on my '85 Westy with good results. It does not turn purple. Your cabinets DO NOT have to be removed. They can get back there with their tools and long arms. The tint template is cut from the outside of the window. Make sure you deal with a reputable shop that provides a lifetime warranty. I just started removing 10-year-old tint from my '84 Westy. What a job! Use a hairdryer to soften the tint and pull gently. Make sure you are pulling both layers of the tint. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the glue residue.
