According to the painfully scanned pages at the end of the album, that rear "add-on" with the grill is a Volvo intercooler for the 1.6l TD engine, and the forward one is TWO Cadillac AC condensers with Mercedes-Benz fans for the R-22 based AC system he rigged up.
