True.  I had never used it.  I didn't even check out the emergency flashers
before I bought it last fall!  Just forgot, I guess.

The two contact idea explains it, I guess. Anyway, at this point the vehicle
is %100 percent functional, I think.  Well, no.  I need to find a tan
sliding door panel...

It is not so weird. That switch can sit in one position for years
untouched. This allows the open contacts to get dirty or such and then
when you close the switch you can have a bad connection. That switch has
2 sets of contacts, one for each side of the van...
