Before I got my Westy (and installed a Carver P4) I used to
camp in my '81 non-Westy.  I had a Coleman Blackcat catalytic
heater that I used when sitting in the van.  (Good sleeping
bag at night, so no heat required.)  It worked pretty well
to point at just moi.
