I had a left _front_ disintegrate at highway speed one time.  Summertime,
afternoon heat, all that.  Very exciting.  There was nothing left but two
ragged beads left on the rim.  I can't recall the make of the tire, though.

SF bay area the whole time as far as I know. Both tires failed at the left
