Subject:Circuit needed for a dual voltage Fridge
From:David Yates

I have an Engel 12/240Volt refrigerator, Model SRT-568AF-T-A4 (in an
"Australian" '82 VW Vanagon). Engle and Dometic are basically the same
brand as far as I am aware - made by Sawa Fuji. I am sure there is a
12/110V equivalent to the one I have.

About 10 years ago I had to replace the Model STR5412S inverter/oscillator
with a new one. This solved the then problem.

I have recently had more trouble with the fridgeHYPERLINK
"http://www.exploroz.com/Directory/Customer/850.asp" \n - it runs ok on
240V, but not on 12 volts. I still have both the old oscillator and the
newer one. Thee new one appears to be OK, tested at the individual component
level, but the fridge doesn't run on 12V.

Does any one have a wiring diagram for this fridge (or a similar Dometic)
that they could provide please? The fridge is sufficiently old (about 26
years) that it is unlikely to have any proprietary information in the
circuit.
Does anyone know anything about the transformer in the fridge?

It would be most helpful to have the diagram so my electrical engineering
mate can help diagnose the problem.

I look forward to anything anyone can contribute.

Thanks,
Dave
