I thought I had read elsewhere that you  could pull out the chrome
plastic strips without worry.   Anyone  care to comment?

This is one of those  subjects that has been covered adnauseum.  LOOK in the
archives.  I  have been driving my Van for 16 years without those stupid
chroma wanna be  widnow DEC^RATION strips and no leaks and no windows have ever
fallen out.
