I can add more anecdotal evidence. After putting in a new bosch pump,
it still was noisy. So I ran an new input line into a gas can and the
noise went away....and I filled my gas tank at the same time. It pumps
it back into the tank fairly quickly. A new gas tank fixed the issue.
