It's best to remove the latch, and then replace.  A bit tricky, but worth
the effort!  I actually pulled the side window glass out to tint mine.

I had mine done a month ago Gerry, and it turned out great. You'll love the
difference. The sliders offer no particular problem, except the rectangle
latch that they have to do a "cut out" around.
