Subject:Re: Touch up paint in spray cans?

I used a rattlecan of PaintScratch Ivory (L567) basecoat to do the engine
compartment in my '80 just last week.

The color match seems perfect. I used only one can to cover the entire
compartment below the rim, including significant modifications (reduced the
width by ~ 7"). Also included the two side air intake areas, left had been
used as an aux battery location by ASI and had a bunch of surface rust, and
I had applied seam sealer to all the seams in both sides.

Not the same as repairing an outer panel, of course. I've been wondering
about doing that, especially being that the original paint is surely not a
basecoat-clearcoat system. (Was anyone doing that in 1980?) It will require
experimentation. Any comments from the painting professionals?

Also, ordering from PaintScratch online was very easy.
