Hi Folks Back on the list for the English summer (!) Over the last few weeks I have fitted a new engine, and have now encountered a problem which I am sure you have all seen before but I am really struggling to get it fixed. I am trying to find out the fitting details for the distributor, I have checked the spark - ok, checked the points - ok, but the position of the distributor eludes me, and there are no pictures to look at to compare what I have with what it should look like. What is the best way to proceed apart from giving up and taking it to the garage (which I really don't want to do as I wanted to learn how to do all this stuff). It is now a bit of a retro fit, it has twin carbs (took out all the fancy fuel injection in preferencewith something I had an inkling of how to maintain) a 2 litre engine aircooled, and looks great - just cant get the thing to fire up! Any advice from you folks is more than welcome, the UK people aren't responding much! Happy travels Paul Paul Clarke vanagon 82 aircooled
